Helen Hodder
Physiotherapist, BSc (Hons), MCSP
I am a Women’s Health Chartered Physiotherapist and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council HCPC.
I have extensive experience treating symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction, including bladder and bowel incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic pain. I have a particular interest in supporting women who experience pelvic health dysfunction as part of the life transitions of motherhood and menopause. These liminal times in a woman’s life can be challenging but also potentially so transformative, especially with access to high quality treatment, advice, support and clinical expertise.
I believe in a functional approach to health, where any health dysfunction is viewed within the broader context of an individual’s complex health systems. These include biochemistry (nutritional health), biomechanics (how the body and tissues move through range of movement) and psychological health (emotional resilience and nervous system regulation).
I collaborate with a variety of Women’s Health specialist practitioners, to provide an integrated team approach. I am passionate about supporting women to access their full potential, restore balance and to facilitate their capacity to thrive in every aspect of their lives.
I have completed additional postgraduate training with:
Maeve Whelan - Myofascial and Trigger Point Release for the Pelvic Floor
Michelle Lyons - Advanced Manual Therapy for the Pelvic Floor
Dr Hollis Herman - Sexual Medicine in Women’s Health
Maria Elliott - Mummy MOT®
Ellen Heed & Kimberly Johnson - Pelvic Scar Tissue Remediation
Tami Lynn Kent - Holistic Pelvic Care™
